Altenew Beautiful Day Card

Here are the Altenew Products and links that I used to make this card: the Beautiful Day Stamping set; Fancy Hello die; Embossing folder is Altenew Organic Linen 3D; Altenew crisp dye inks including, Mountain Lights Inks: Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Lagoon; Tea Party: Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Vineyard Berry; Green fields: Frayed leaf, Forest glades. I also, managed to tuck some Silver metallic thread under the center, main bloom to give some more texture as well. All stamping was done with my MISTI And Altenew Hybrid Black ink. I used the most Altenew products I could with this card!

Directions: I used my Misti to stamp the Beautiful Day image with the Crisp dye inks and finished with the Black Hybrid ink to finish. I smeared the Mountain Light blue inks onto an Altenew watercolor palate and then carefully watercolored the remaining long flower pieces. I chose to make them all turquoise. I used all 3 of the turquoise colors to show depth. I used the Linen 3D ef with a beige gray piece of cardstock. I put it through the Platinum 6 and then cut it shorter to turn it around and put it back through to make it the full 7 inches I need for this card size. I kinda hid the small line that was the connector line under the larger blossoms toward the bottom. I taped it down onto my gray card base. I die cut the "Hello" from a glossy shimmer blue-green paper that matched the ink colors. After arranging the blossoms the way I wanted them, I used pop foam under the main blossom, again to add depth, with the silver threads under it, peeking out. Using Art Glitter glue to adhere everything down, and added the sentiment at the bottom. Hope you enjoy it!

Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue Mixed Media Layout

Using the Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue Collection, I fussy cut out the elements that I had wanted to showcase some of the snorkeling photos we had taken when we dove the Florida Keys Live Reef off of Key West.  We chose Fury Water Adventures Key West and we went out 30 mins ride. The reef is nice and it wasn't too many people so we had a fabulous time. Unlimited drinks coming back and we sat up with the captain both ways which makes for a beautiful view. No underwater pics but this layout will be wonderful to remind us to do this again!! Great day in Key West!

Layout Details: I used the Picket Fence Current of Fish Stencil with Agua Stickles on the left page and Lagoon on the right page. Gold Stickles were used around the edge of the 3x4 elements and the sign. As you may tell, the paper did ripple a bit with the mixed media "wetness" but looked gorgeous in person so really worth it to me, and it was fun.

House Mouse Candy Cane Taste Christmas Card

This card is from my friend Bunny Hoyle using the House Mouse Candy Cane Taste image. I used Prisma colored pencils for the candy cane and copics for the mouse and snow.  The pattern papers are 8x8 Elle Studio papers cut for the 5x7 card base. I love the striped paper that matches the candy cane!! Added a red cardstock sentiment that wouldn't be too large for the image. The Dollar Tree sticker snow flake and Joles' candy cane from my stash from years ago. Again, to make this more fun, I used Art Glitter glue along the lines of the "snow" and then added Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy and Mica Flakes to mimic snow and add some dimension and sparkle.

Crop till You Drop Scrapbook Layout

Isn't this gnome adorable? My friend, Katie Botsford made it as my welcoming gift box of goodies for our Crop Paper Sister's crop several months ago. Well, I cut it down and used the rest of the box as the background for the title and the mat for the decal of our logo. The swirl was on our "free table" and the papers are from many many years ago by a company called, Making Memories in Fushia. The pics are of us at the crop on National Scrapbook Day and of the group when a past member attended from out of town and we managed to get a pic! We almost forgot to take one!!!! Doesn't that sound funny!! But true! Enjoy the layout!!

House Mouse Elf Gifts Card

Using House Mouse stamp, "Elf gifts", I stamped with Picket Fence Hybrid ink with my MISTI and colored with my Copics to make this happy troupe! I added one sheet of Lawn Fawn 6x6 plaid cut apart to make it large enough for the 5x7 card base. Added one piece of red and a tree from my stash that had already been made. Love how some cards just come together so easily. To make it more fun, I used Art Glitter glue along the lines of the "snow" and then added Tim Holtz Distress Rock Candy and Mica Flakes to mimic snow and add some dimension and sparkle.

Graphic 45 "Mermaid Crown" with Mixed Media

I recently attended an "Under the Sea" event. In anticipation of going, I decided to handmake this crown for myself to wear. I realized after looking at Pinterest that the place to shop was Dollar Tree for $1.25 because it would not break the bank. Unfortunately, we live in Orlando, and our stores have more people shopping at them than other cities and so it took getting someone to drive me to many of them before I was able to find the shells and supplies to purchase. I did buy 2 headbands made for birthdays in blue which had the stars on the ends of the "candles" that were apart of the plastic base. These were perfect and I'm so glad I bought 2 because the first headband broke as I was taking everything off of it before making it. I used Krylon Gold Metallic Maxx (cheapest at Michaels) spray on the headband and the shells. I  covered the stars with tape as they didn't need anything done to them. This took some time to insure that all sides were covered. I did have left over smaller shells that were used in the table centerpiece seen below. I waited overnight to make sure the layers of spray were dry. Florida is very humid and heat dries things fast but layers of spray may be wet still underneath.

I used the Graphic 45 Voyage Beneath the Sea in 8x8 size for the Mermaid and regular 12x12 for the coral and greenery. After fussy cutting the Mermaid and fish she was riding and the sea creatures and coral and such I added them all over the crown itself. The coral pieces are seen on the stars on the ends. The sea kelp was positioned behind the Mermaid herself. After they were adhered, I painted a coat of Plaid Ceramcoat Delta Creative Sparkle Glaze to create a shine and iridescent sparkle to the paper. Some light dusting of the gold glitter was the last touch.

For the Sea Shells, I spread a coat of Art Glitter glue over each of the sea shells and meticulously dipped them into Tim Holtz Distress Glitter Dust in Vintage Platinum to cover the spiral ends. I set them aside to dry over night so that it had time to cure. Eventually, I attached them beginning with the tallest in the centers, to the smallest going toward the ends. The blue foam and tulle were added as the front.

Many jewels in blue and green, as well as large pearls were attached with my hottest glue gun due to their weight. A Pearl strand was glued running from one end to the other. The turquoise shear ribbon was looped behind the straight pieces of the crown and flowed off the sides. The left over shells, and gold sprayed shells were added for the Table Centerpiece with added die cuts, blue and pink confetti, and a Mermaid doll from that Dollar Tree. 6 pearl necklaces from my jewelry box were also added for display. The box of Swedish Fish and note were a surprise to me when I opened up all of the bag of stuff after I got to the event. The note said, "To my favorite Mermaid, Enjoy some Mermaid food." What a great hubby I have!! <3

I hope this gives someone some ideas to make such a "crown" like this for themselves.

House Mouse Birthday Card 2

I love "Use What I Have" mantra and this is a series of cards that I did that with that mindset. I had overlooked my Martha Stewart Fringe scissors that are on my tool caddy on my scrapbook table alongside many other tools as well. So for this endeavor, I decided to grab my color coordinated paper scraps, and sit down with these scissors and see what I could come up with, viola', I made some fun cards. This meant to come up with something fun to match up with the card bases and of course, adding funny House Mouse images had to happen. I stamped with my MISTI and colored with the Copics to match the colored papers and images, and this festive Cupcake Chick.

Summer Moments Layout

Stripes are the weathered wood on the sides of the vertical panel with the photos. The theme and title include summer.

Challenges:

Dusty Attic August Mood Board Challenge

For this layout I have used a mixture of Kaiser Craft papers and K & Co embellishments including the birds, and shells. The sun is a wooden piece I have that I believe is about 2018 Dusty Attic. Also, the gold and pattern paper ferns were die cut from paper. Vellum is under the 3x4" paper piece that is also from the Kaiser Craft papers. I roughed up the paper edges on the triangle and the vellum to give a more natural look to the layout. I thought that everything matched up perfectly with the beach photos that were needing to be scrapped from 2020. Time goes by but memories don't fade of happy times!! Enjoy!

Memorial Day Layout 2023

I used the top line horizontally: Faux stitching, Pre-made Title and foam stickers (blue stars)

I used Echo Park America Collection, using the sketch, I used the checkered board as the backdrop of the focus of the pics and cut aparts which were on two different of the sheets of pattern paper. I then mounted the cut aparts to a tomato red cardstock (no name) and the photos do not have cardstock. The title was given to me by a scrapbook friend several months ago and I really wanted to use it but realized that the different sizes of circles didn't "flow" when I lined them up. So much with cutting all of them out!! Shucks! So I gave up and put everything in the bag with the collection and packed it for a crop I was going to today. I went back to the "drawing board" so to speak, and it all came together when I took it out of the bag. I had already fussy cut this rosette paper for another layout, so that the long version of these circles on the rosette paper gave a better look to ground that extra long title. How hilarious! I feel that sometimes when I am scrapping at home nothing comes together but when I am with a large room of friends and talking, I become more flexible and it seems to come together so easily. So I really am surprised in a good way, how it came out!! I kinda shocked myself!! Don't you ever just wonder what was happening when you first were trying?
