Paper House Productions New York City Travel layout

I had a fantastic trip to New York City!! I did so much in just a few days, I don't even have enough time to tell you! I was even at NBC's Morning Show. Not great pictures so didn't add those. But while I was up early and standing outside that Saturday in February, an empty parade float came speeding by. That's when I realized it was Chinese New Year's and this was headed to the celebration. It is a fabulous event where everyone celebrates an old tradition and to be able to attend it in the infamous China Town, New York City, was fantastic! I still had to pack my bags to leave early that evening, so ran back to my hotel in Manhattan, I left them with my concierge, and took a taxi straight into China Town area, walked around and had so much fun! That's why I included my picture with the man dressed in the Dragon head. I took a selfie while on the subway coming back. Other things on my travels were to go to the also famous Russian Tea Room and take a picture with the gorgeous Doorman. Can you tell it was freezing outside but he didn't seem to mind at all.  Also, went to the Broadway Musical Wicked, and loved it. Also, got to shop at the hugest store in the world, Macy's Herald Square! What fun I had!! Can't wait till my husband can come with me!
Scrapbooking supplies were:
Paper House Productions New York City Map 12" Scrapbook Paper
Paper House Productions New York City Cardstock Sticker
Scrapbook Adhesives 3L Mounting Squares
EK Success Powder to de-stick some of the stickers.
Paper Crafter's Corner Magazine Monday Week #70
I was inspired by the bold headline that ‘frames’ the content and the neutral background.  I just couldn't leave so much white space and chose to add little "bits" everywhere. I also added a bank of pics under instead of over the center picture.

Echo Park So Happy Together Layout for Paper Crafter's Corner Challenge Week #69

This layout is of my son's first return home from college after 3 months!! We had such a great time. My journaling was: "There's nothing like all of us together again!" The paper ironically is called Echo Park So Happy together. The layout is from Scrapbook Generation's idea sketch and sample from over a year ago.
I thought of doing it after the Paper Crafter's Corner Challenge with all the houses and pictures. Reminded me of the patterned paper's houses so drug it out, and went blank! So after some help from Pinterest!!!! I was inspired! Love my Pinterest boards, and all the delight of finding something I have saved for another time to do. It worked great and I even have more sketches to do yet!

Hope you try your hand at it too! Love Steph's blog!!

DCWV Butterfly Garden Card: Won for September Stack-a-holic Challenge

I love how this came out using DCWV The Butterfly Garden Stack of scrumptious designs. I popped up 2 butterflies, and added various pearls. The print was so pretty, I didn't want to cover it up so used a sheer ribbon. Martha Stewart border punch was used on the piece beside it. The sentiment is by Doodlebug designs. Enjoy!
This won for DCWV September Stackaholic Challenge

My Mind's Eye Layout: Paper Crafter's Corner ChallengeWeek #68

I really went all out to make this fabulous layout! These pics are of my daughter's 5th grade project in which she was to choose an "American Hero" she wanted to do a report on. She chose Amelia Earhart. She, and another lady hand sewn an aviator's cap, and matched up odds and ends to make her costume. She really enjoyed that and put on quite a show.
The pattern papers I used are mostly My Mind's Eye Lost & Found, and then the small pieces showing on the top and bottom is Foofala with vintage air planes. I felt it would refer to the composition. Green sparkling tulle, Prima flowers, Tim Holtz bingo pieces and ticket, metal corner on the upper left corner on the left page, and a few pearl swirls and added pieces through out. And yes, I used my Cricut with my Gypsy to make another banner which is attached to a black plastic straw with brads! Ha! So clever, I think!!
Here is the inspiration piece:

Inspiration: Soft fall colors of burnt red, different geometric shapes and two title banners.
Enjoy!

Paper Crafter's Challenge week 67

PaperCrafter's Corner Challenge Week #67
From Paper Crafter's Corner Challenge, I was inspired by the 52 to think of playing cards and therefore hunted around for a deck I had purchased just for such an occasion. It is slightly larger in size than the typical and seemed like it would fit larger photos so I had bought it months ago. How perfect for this week's magazine cover inspiration!! So, I was moved to make a mini album out of it with a Zutter Bind-It-All. I used cardstock, and rub-ons from my stash and wallet sized pics, I am still adding more journaling, and hope to have it in the mail soon.  I plan on giving it to my son.  Hope you enjoy it, too!

Prima Marketing Layout for PaperCrafter's Corner and Sketches in Thyme Challenge

The layout on the right is my interpretation of this beautiful Sketch #129, done by Beverly Code, here, from Sketches in Thyme blog. Did you notice my brick stencil I made using Viva Décor Crackle crème through a brick stencil for the background square? I thought it mimicked the brick building of their sorority house, well.

Paper Crafter's Corner Challenge #66 HEREInspired by all the beautiful faces, and the word in the lower right corner, "College" so here is my layout of college friends with my daughter. Hope you enjoy it.
Supplies: Prima Marketing Steel Toe Mary Jane collection from 2007, with Prima flowers and lace. Viva Décor Crackle Paint in Cream with brick stencil used on right page. Tuxedo Black Momento ink. The layout on right is a direct copy of a Pictures in Time small scrapbook store in north Florida. Great place. I distressed all the edges so easily with a Distrezz-It-All before inking.

DCWV August Challenge 2014-Chalkboard Stack

Loved doodling all of the pieces of different chalkboard colored cardstock from this pad!!! It was so relaxing and therapeutic! Love that! Here is my card for the DCWV August 2014 Stack-a-holic card challenge. Used a DecoColor Opaque White Paint marker in extra fine and DCWV Chalkboard Stack, as well. Enjoy! I'll add if they publish it since I emailed my entry, I won't know till they publish the ones they choose.
