Creative Paris Layout

Sketches In Thyme September Week #3 Sketch
Creative Embellishments September Challenge

I used Authentique Papers called Explore and started with the gorgeous map paper. I then used other papers in the collection and my Spellbinders circle dies and Platinum 6 die cutting machine to cut them into circles. The flowers are all Prima Marketing from different collections. The wooden pieces were in my stash. I used white gesso on the flowers then rubbed Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide over the top and used my heat gun to dry each layer faster. After the piece was dry, I rubbed it with Versa Mark ink pad and then added Wow Clear gloss ultra high embossing powder and heat set that. This gave the flowers an enamel gloss to the piece. I broke off a piece while doing the technique and that made me want to use this as 2 pieces to the layout. Funny how accidents turn into great ways to use things! Love that! With the word Cherish, I used the Versamark ink and added Ranger Gold embossing powder and heat set. The velvet ribbon was left over from cards I made so it just seemed to beg to go on the layout as well. The quote was from the top bar of the Authentique Papers which was added with foam squares under the velvet ribbon.
The Story: In 2019, my husband and I chose to take our 40th Anniversary trip a year early. Yes. We decided NOT to wait for July 2020 to take our trip when the time was actually going to happen and due to that very thing, I really cherish these precious memories!! First time to Paris and not planning any more trips! Once and done!
I loved playing with these pieces from my stash and am entering this in these challenges:

Sketch in Thyme chose this layout as one of the top 3 runner up winners for September.

Rochelle Spears September Sketch Layout

Using Rochelle Spears sketch challenge I put this layout together. I had matched up some old Basic Grey papers including Stella Ruby Ladies Book Club (stripe), Pyrus Pear Pie (small circles) and other papers in my stash to throw off the neon pink of the t-shirt that he was wearing. Really wanted to tone it down. Embellishments: Chipboard pieces from Prima Marketing; Metal Bible:

I used Sequins/Gems(3 stars and one black gem in the hole of the 2004 piece), Ephemera(Jillibean Soup word pieces and blank journal squares), Chipboard (the 2004, clock and hour glass). And metal and word strips added as well, for good measure!

Other Challenges I am entering:

Friends Layout

This is a layout of my friends who regularly attend conventions for stamping and scrapbooking. We decided to wear matching t-shirts and it was a big hit at this particular one due to their mascot is a flamingo! We always have a blast together no matter what we are doing!! Loved using the Simon Says Stamp "Thank you for being a friend" from the Golden Girls. The flamingo is from Creek Bank Creations (it's on clearance!!) and the papers are all from Let's Party by Echo Park. The bunting pieces were all fussy cut out and there were so many!! Think of putting a puzzle together to arrange them in these clusters! The edges were all inked with Ranger Walnut stain ink. Am entering this on Sketch in Thyme following the sketch below. Enjoy!!

Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash Fall Card

This is with a ceramic one of my sons made when he was 13 and it felt kinda Halloween-like so I paired it for the photo so as to show the green of the title more.

Using all kinds of great supplies from Reverse Confetti, I made this fun fall colored birthday card. If you are like me, you are always needing another for a specific person in mind that has one coming up.
I first started with a Neenah white cardstock and blended Distress Oxides in Kitsch Flamingo, and Carved Pumpkin with Erin Lee Creative's blending brushes. Also, ink blended to the card front on the right and bottom of the panel. Added Creek Bank Creations Adhesive to the back of the Big Flower Cover panel before die cutting, so as to adhere it down in one piece easily. Then stamped with my MISTI and colored the Orange Blossoms with copics, and die cut them as well. With a 12 inch Fiskars trimmer, I diagonally cut the cover die pieces and adhered them to an A-2 card, of 4.25x5 inches. Added all the elements and then a few sequins to give some sparkle! It was easiest to align everything in the corner of my MISTI. It really means I have a two-fer since the cut is perfectly down the center and I could use more of these cute birthday cards for 2 friends who live in Florida (Oranges blossoms are our national flower) who happen to have October birthdays.

Prima Marketing Annalee Layout from Sketch in Thyme blog

I love these papers and found them at a recent Scrapbook Garage Sale at The Scrapbook Studio in Tavares, FL. Such a cute shop and met such sweet ladies!! Yes these papers are a blast from the past and came with the flowers which were included. Loved working with all of the pretty colors to make this feminine layout. Products used: Prima Marketing Annalee, Fairy Flora and Flights of Fancy Collection papers. I fussy cut apart the borders and used 2 of those. Cut up all of the different papers as squares and layered and distress inked all of the edges of each and the larger 12x12 background too. Inks: Ranger Distress Walnut ink; Distress Oxides in Mermaid Lagoon and Raspberry Preserves with a blender tool. Also distress inked the flowers as well.

Challenge:

Funkie Junkie Boutique Challenge-De-stressing with distressing-I used 2 Ranger Distress Oxides: Mermaid Lagoon, and Raspberry Preserves and of course Distress Walnut Ink.
