Mixed Media using Ken Oliver's Colorburst

Today's post is one of my Mixed Media projects that I made for a friend. It is on a piece of wood panel from Zutter and is the front of a notebook yet to be made, like Lisa Hoel had done. I also took Lynne Forsythe's inspiration of using Wendy Vecchi's embossing paste through Tim Holtz's Hearts stencil then drying it and adding Ken Oliver's Gamboge Colorburst powder, then spritzing it with water.  But the first thing I did was to use Pan Pastels in red and yellow on a piece of Watercolor paper. This sentiment is Impression Obsession by Yvonne Blair's which was stamped with Versamark.  After I die cut the Sizzix Caged Bird onto a slick paptern paper I added Viva Crackle Paste, dried it and then after dry I again added Ken Oliver's Colorburst in Cerulean Blue, and then added the Gamboge again. The flower is Stampendous Lovely Garden Jumbo and die, stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink, onto watercolor paper.  Sprinkled with Ken Oliver Colorburst in Scarlet amd Spritzed with water and layered a little more. The colors I used all were from Ken Oliver's Color Burst Rich Moroccan Shades and I love them!! The last step was taking the wood piece and Stayz On black ink onto the edges before glueing it down with Beacons 3 in One adhesive.
Well, that's all for me now! Enjoy!

  2. This is such a wonderful piece! I love the color palette you've chosen and how you've blended and combined all those shades of pink and orange so beautifully! This card has both warmth and whimsy and I love how the bird gives it just the right pop of color. Excellent composition and an amazing eye for detail. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
